Welcome to Stu Laidlaw Racing
"Competing at the highest level is not about winning. It's about preparation, courage, understanding and nurturing your people, and heart. Winning is the result."
~ Joe Torre
We added a second car to our 2020 racing team, driven by Gregg Peters in the Pruhs Thunder Stock. Gregg raced on dirt tracks for many years, winning multiple championships. In 2020 Gregg transitioned to his first season on a paved track, driving the #23 car. Gregg had multiple podium finishes and earned 2nd overall in points.
The 2019 season at Alaska Race Park NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model series was a huge success for Stu Laidlaw and his #18 Team and a great springboard for the 2020 season. Stu and his team are highly respected by his peers and have made huge strides coming a long way in just two short seasons. In 2019 they were consistently faster with greater proficient speed and ended up 3rd overall in points! This is a great accomplishment for such a new team. Laidlaw Racing also received the Best Appearing Team award for the oval track.
Stu Laidlaw lead in points overall for all rookies in 2018 and in 2019 he came in 3rd overall in the Late Model class. In 2020 he took the championship! He might not have been the fastest car on the track but he was the most consistent all season, putting him in the lead for points and earning the title of 2020 GCI Late Model Champion.
Stu Laidlaw’s racing career started in 2010 racing stock cars on dirt tracks in Willow, Kenai and Fairbanks. Starting in the Hobby Stock Class, Stu quickly became proficient in winning races. Shortly after, Stu moved up to the B Stock car class. B Stock is the top stock car class in the Alaska circuit. By hard work and determination, Stu and his team made his stock car the fastest car in its class!
